If you’re looking to add extra magic to your Walt Disney World Vacation, there are a number of options for exclusive evening events. These events offer lower crowds (yes to shorter wait times!), unique snacks, and exclusive entertainment. From splashy nighttime pool parties to festive holiday celebrations, here’s a look at the most popular Disney evening events that make the parks shine long after dark.
✨ Disney After Hours

When: Various times throughout the year
Where: Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom
Vibe: VIP park experience without the crowds
Disney After Hours events at the theme parks offer a more low-key, crowd-free way to experience popular attractions. These late-night events usually run for 3 extra hours after regular park closing and are capped at limited attendance, which means walk-on rides, endless snacks, and photo ops without the daytime chaos. These events even include access to headliners like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (Epcot), Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios), and Tron: Lightcycle Run (Magic Kingdom).
Why we love Disney After Hours Events:
- Very short lines for rides (sometimes they are almost walk on!)
- Ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select drinks are included
- The Theme Parks at night offer a special atmosphere, and getting to enjoy them with lower crowds in a more relaxed, exclusive park feel is even better.
🌊 H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon

When: Select summer nights
Where: Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Vibe: Neon, DJ beach party, water park after dark
Grab your glow gear and dive into one of Disney’s coolest nighttime events—literally. H2O Glow Nights transform Typhoon Lagoon into a high-energy, glowing beach bash. With dance parties, a live DJ, glowing wristbands, and access to all the water slides with minimal wait, it’s a summer party like no other. Characters like Buzz Lightyear and Woody often make surprise appearances, adding Pixar magic to the mix.
Why we love H20 Glow Nights:
- Water slides in Florida summer without the wait times – yes please!
- Snacks like popcorn and ice cream are included with the ticket
- Who doesn’t love a pool party that glows?
🎃 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

When: Mid-August through Halloween
Where: Magic Kingdom
Vibe: Family-friendly spooky fun with unique Halloween characters
Costumes, candy, and cobwebs—oh my! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a frightfully fun evening packed with trick-or-treating trails, dance parties, themed fireworks, and the iconic Boo-to-You Halloween Parade featuring the Headless Horseman (if you haven’t seen him ride down Main Street, you are missing a special experience). Exclusive character meet-and-greets, spooky overlays on select rides (like Space Mountain in complete darkness), and a festive stage show starring the Sanderson Sisters all add to reasons we love this party.
Why we love Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party:
- Unlimited trick-or-treat candy (seriously, our kids stopped at each station once and we almost filled a carry on size suitcase!)
- Rare character appearances (hello, Jack Skellington, the Sanderson Sisters, and all 7 Dwarfs to name a few!)
- As the name says, this is Halloween fun without the frights. All ages can enjoy the spooky atmosphere without being scared. (If you are looking for true Halloween Horror, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights offer a very frightening experience)
🌟 Disney Jollywood Nights

When: Select nights in November and December
Where: Hollywood Studios
Vibe: Glamorous, jazzy, vintage Hollywood holiday (while the event is open to kids, this one is definitely feels more adult themed)
Disney Jollywood Nights brings a glitzy, grown-up flair to the season. Think 1950s Hollywood cocktail party meets Disney magic. You’ll enjoy jazzy live entertainment, themed lounges, character appearances (including rare vintage favorites), festive food and drinks, and after-hours access to headliner rides like Tower of Terror and Rise of the Resistance. With an elevated atmosphere and an adults-night-out vibe, it offers a different vibe to the classic cheer of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Why we love Disney Jollywood Nights:
- Sophisticated holiday theming and décor. It’s fun to get a little dressed up, have a date night (or friends’ night out) in a theme park.
- Limited-capacity event makes us feel like VIPs – especially with all the headliner attractions with low wait times.
- Unique entertainment offerings and character meet and greets. From character stage shows starring the Muppets, a Nightmare Before Christmas Sing Along, themed musical entertainment and over 20 unique character experiences we can fill up our evening without even going on a ride.
🎄 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

When: Early November through December
Where: Magic Kingdom
Vibe: Whimsical winter wonderland that definitely puts you in the Christmas Spirit
Snow on Main Street in Florida? Only at Disney. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party turns Magic Kingdom into a glittering holiday postcard. Special entertainment like Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show, festive fireworks, holiday themed attractions, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime parade (we love the marching tin soldiers playing their instruments), and complimentary seasonal treats (think hot cocoa and cookies) fill your evening with holiday magic. Cinderella Castle shimmers, characters wear their holiday best, and the holiday spirit is everywhere.
Why we love Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
- Holiday-themed ride overlays (like Jingle Cruise and Space Mountain with holiday music)
- Meet-and-greets with Santa and festive characters including a Disney Junior Dance Party
- A magical snowfall moment on Main Street, U.S.A. The lights, shimmering castle, holiday music, and the snow put us in an over the top Christmas mood
Tips for attending any of Disney’s After Hours events

- Buy tickets early – These events can and do sell out, especially during holidays.
- Arrive early – Entry usually begins a few hours before the official start time, so you can get in even more park time.
- Use Memory Maker – There are a lot of unique Photopass options at each of these events and you don’t want to miss them.
- Pack light – Less crowd means quicker park navigation, so a small day bag is all you need. BUT – bring a large trick or treat bag for each member of your party for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (trust us.)
- Dress for the event – Costumes are welcome at the Halloween Party, Christmas Shirts add fun to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, use Jollywood Nights as an excuse to get a little fancy, and glow accessories are encouraged at H2O Glow.
Disney’s After Hours events are more than just bonus time in the parks—they’re unique experiences filled with exclusive perks, themed fun, and magical moments that only happen after dark. Whether you’re dancing under the stars at H2O Glow, watching snowfall on Main Street during Christmas, or grabbing candy from a costumed cast member on Halloween, these events bring an extra sprinkle of pixie dust to any Disney vacation.
