One of the statements we hear a lot is “I’m going to wait until my kids are older to plan a trip to Disney World.” They’re worried kids won’t remember it. Social media says it’s exhausting. Others insist Disney is only magical once kids can ride everything.
While visiting Walt Disney World with young kids does look different than with older kids or adults only trips, it’s often when the magic feels the most real. We have been bringing our kids to Disney Theme Parks since they were a few months old and we want to put these myths to bed.
Myth #1: “They’re Too Young to Remember It, So It’s Not Worth It”
Here’s the thing: Disney World at an early age isn’t about long-term memory. It’s about felt experience.

Young children may not recall every ride name years later, but they’ll remember how they felt meeting a character, riding Dumbo for the first time, or watching fireworks light up the sky. We can promise you that as parents, we remember these reactions forever — and those shared moments become part of your family story.
Disney is designed for wonder, not recall tests.
Myth #2: “They Can’t Ride all the Rides – They Will be Missing Out”
Walt Disney’s goal when he was developing Disneyland in California was to create a place where parents and kids could play together. Walt Disney World continues this, and a majority of the attractions have no height requirement at all. Gentle rides, slow-moving attractions, interactive queues, parades, playground-style spaces, and character encounters fill every park.

For kids, the parks feel immersive rather than overwhelming — everything is colorful, musical, and built at their eye level. They don’t need thrill rides to feel like they’re part of the adventure.
Myth #3: “If you visit Disney World with Young Kids the Days Will Be Too Long and Exhausting and they will be overstimulated”
This myth usually comes from families trying to tour Disney like a marathon.
When traveling with young kids, the magic happens when the pace slows. Midday breaks, earlier evenings, pool time, and flexible plans all allow your family to really enjoy Disney without it feeling overwhelming.

Crowds and stimulation are real, but they’re manageable with smart planning. Early mornings, quieter attractions, shaded paths, and intentional breaks make a huge difference. We work with all of our clients on different ways we can help ease this feeling.

Staying at certain Deluxe Resorts makes it easier to step away from the parks for naps or downtime without losing hours to transportation. Being close means you can pop back for rest — and return refreshed.
Myth #4: “Dining Will Be a Nightmare with Picky Eaters”

Dining at Disney World with young kids can feel like a lot. There are so many choices. And most likely, you have a broader palate than your little ones. The good news is that Disney is one of the most accommodating places for families with young children. Kid-friendly menus, familiar foods, flexible dining options, and character meals turn mealtime into entertainment rather than stress. Whether your kids simply want to snack, grab a quick bite, or get hugs from their favorite characters there a lot of places to choose from.

Myth #5: “It’s Better to Save Deluxe Resorts for When They’re Older”
This is one of the biggest misconceptions, and again, we write from experience.
Deluxe Resorts aren’t only about luxury for adults — they’re also about convenience, comfort, and experience for families. Shorter transportation times, walkability, boats or monorails instead of long bus rides, larger rooms, standout pools, fun restaurants, and firework views all matter more when traveling with young kids.

These resorts don’t just enhance the trip; they make it more enjoyable for everyone.
